Chhath Puja 2024 Bank Holiday: Four Consecutive Days of Bank Closures in Some States
Banks in several states will remain closed for up to four consecutive days due to Chhath Puja celebrations, followed by a weekend that includes a second Saturday and Sunday.
Chhath Puja 2024 Bank Holiday Schedule:
- November 7 (Thursday): Banks will be closed in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, and West Bengal for the Evening Arghya ceremony of Chhath Puja.
- November 8 (Friday): Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya for the Morning Arghya and Wangala Festival.
- November 9 (Saturday): As it is the second Saturday of the month, all banks will be closed.
- November 10 (Sunday): Banks will be closed as per the regular Sunday holiday schedule.
Other Bank Holidays in November:
- November 15 (Friday): Banks will be closed in multiple states for various regional holidays.
- November 18 (Monday): Banks will be closed in Karnataka for Kanakadasa Jayanti.
- November 23 (Saturday): Banks will be closed in Meghalaya for Seng Kutsnem, along with the regular fourth Saturday holiday.

The festival spans four days, with the key ceremonies taking place on November 7-8, 2024.
